RPGaDay 2021 – System

Which system is best feels like one of the most divisive topics in roleplaying. Odds are, if you’ve ever roleplayed you’re likely to have a system you prefer above all others. But that doesn’t mean it’s any good when running games for children.
It’s tempting to stick with a system you know, but games designed for adults aren’t always great for kids. I’ve talked about ignoring the more complicated rules, but what about kid-friendly systems?
Rules light systems are a good starting place. Letting players focus on the story is good, but don’t forget the other aspects of roleplaying. Dice rolling is always fun, as is the use of miniatures. Making roleplaying a more tactile experience will be a winner with kids. And they’ll start asking for dice as birthday presents.
