RPGaDay – Day 25: Favourite RPG no one else wants to play
Short Answer: Fantasy Craft, Crafty Games.
Long Answer: This is a tricky question to answer. It’s less a case of no one wanting to play, and more a case of most people having little free time to begin with, me included. What time we do have is usually given over to ‘easier’ hobbies like wargaming and card games. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just the way it is.
It’s also not exactly true that no one wants to play Fantasy Craft, it’s more that it’s something of an uphill struggle to get people to play. With the massive popularity of Pathfinder and the ever persistent D&D, it can be difficult to get people to try something different. Especially when the game has so many similarities to games they’re already playing.
Sure, if I offered to run a game (and could find a suitable time), I’d probably get some players. That’s all good, my I really do prefer to play instead of run. It’s a lot less mentally taxing, though limiting myself to published adventures would certainly mitigate that.
